Andrea is predeceased by her infant daughter Kara Dione, her parents John and Pearl Robstad, her father and mother-in-law Norman and Peggy Dearle, brother and sister-in-law Barry and Bonnie, sisters in law Karen and Darlene Robstad, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Andrea is survived by her husband Glenn, son Nathan, daughter Megan, and grandchildren Nikolas, Liam, Emerson and Harry. Brothers Lester (Sharon), Darryl (Diana), Garth (Michelle), sister-in-law Barb (Larry), sister-in-law Connie (Tim), and numerous nephews and nieces.
Andrea was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and lived in Battleford. She was raised on the farm in Ituna, Saskatchewan along with her brother Garth, from 1959. Her two older brothers were already grown up and on their own.
After her father’s passing in 1969, she, along with her mom and Garth, moved to Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. They lived with Grandma and Grandpa Orheim while Pearl went east for schooling.
In 1972, Andrea, Pearl and Garth moved to Moosomin where Pearl got a job at the hospital.
Andrea was in grade 10 where she joined sports teams of the Marquis in basketball, volleyball, track and field, and soft ball. She stayed a member of the teams until she graduated grade 12 in 1975. She took secondary schooling in Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon for two years.
In 1977 she married Glenn Dearle after meeting him at a high school dance in 1975. They had 3 children, Kara who they lost in 1981, shortly after she was born, Nathan was adopted in 1985, and Megan was born in 1987.
Andrea had many jobs in her lifetime, at Shaw’s Flowers, Co-op, Fine Foods, Mainline Terminal, and Moosomin Home Hardware. Her best job was staying home, raising Nathan and Megan when they were young, then returning to the work force when the kids were in their teen years.
She was diagnosed with diabetes when she was in secondary school. She had her ups and downs with the disease.
In 2020, she started having health problems with mobility and in 2022 she was diagnosed with cancer, which she had removed. She endured chemo, which did not do her any good as mobility got worse. She had to rely on Glenn and Nathan to help her.
She loved spending time at Moosomin Lake, fishing and camping in their seasonal site. The campsite was her happy place to get away from the rat race of life.
Andrea loved her dogs. They were Taffy, Gutherie, Bear, Buddy, Ginger, Sid, Leia, Dex, Delta, and Daisy. They were always a big part of her life and she loved their companionship.
She loved cooking and especially loved Christmas baking, scuffles, short bread and rosettes. Her favourite meal at Christmas was lefse and lutefisk, with mashed potatoes and melted butter, along with all the Christmas goodies.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Moosomin Regional Park, to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Andrea would like you to consider donations to be made to the Moosomin & District Healthcare Foundation for CT Scanner Fund PO Box 1470 Moosomin, Sask S0G 3N0 in memory of Andrea.
