It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ann Marie Wiebe (née Woods), age 65 years. Marie passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre on August 9, 2024.

Marie is predeceased by her mother Marilyn Woods (née Bowerin). She is survived by her husband of 45 years Jake; son Chris; son Mike (Mackenzie) and beloved granddaughter Lauren; father Ralph Woods; sister Beth Lundsten (Ron); brother Garth Woods (Lorna); and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Born on July 4, 1959, Marie grew up on the family farm south of Red Jacket. After finishing high school in Moosomin, she studied office administration at STI in Moose Jaw.

While raising their boys, Marie and Jake lived in town and Marie worked at Moosomin Dental Clinic for many years. She was highly valued by those who worked with her there, as well as when she transitioned to a career in accounting at Davidson’s Financial Services. Marie finished her career as a CPA with Masson & Associates. She truly enjoyed her work, which enabled her to use her expertise to advise and serve so many in and around Moosomin.

She had a strong sense of community and was a cornerstone of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, having played piano and organ and having been active with the choir for decades.

Marie’s greatest joys were her family, her friends, and her home. She loved nature—sitting on the deck at their acreage, watching the birds and listening to the wind in the poplars. She loved her home—making all types of delicious food and growing a prolific garden. She loved her people—laughs and long visits with good friends, playing raucous board games with family, and snuggles with her granddaughter. And she loved Jake—from once-in-a-lifetime holidays to extraordinary everyday life together. Marie had a life well-lived, and she will be dearly missed by all the people whose lives she touched.

We are grateful for the kind and compassionate care given to Marie by the staff at Moosomin EMS, the Intensive Care Unit at Yorkton Regional Health Centre, and staff at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre.

A Service of Remembrance for Marie was held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Moosomin. Interment and reception followed the service.

A prayer ceremony was held Thursday, August 15, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Moosomin.
